Workshop 1: Youth Project
Pond Inlet, Nunavut. February, 2007
During the creation of Night the ensemble of artists conducted Youth Workshops for the youth of Pond Inlet. These workshops focused on sharing culture, artistic traditions, and the use theatre as a tool for empowerment. Thirteen youth from Nasivvik High School created a twenty-minute play that dealt with searching for a balance between traditional and modern ways of life. It was presented to the community of Pond Inlet before the Night Workshop Presentation on March 16th, 2007. Another Youth Project will take place during Workshop #3 in Pond Inlet in January/2009.
